• General School Board Meeting Information

All community members of Bishop CISD are invited to attend the BCISD School Board Meetings, held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.  The meetings take place in the Luerhrs Junior High Library, located at 717 East 6th Street. To ensure transparency and engagement, the meeting agendas are posted 72 hours before the regular gathering in the display case at the entrance to the Joe D. Trevino Auditorium. A digital copy of the BCISD School Board Agenda is also posted online.

As a community-focused district, we value your input and presence. All meetings are open to the public, and we extend a warm welcome to each of you to attend. The public comment agenda item provides an excellent opportunity for community members to address the board prior to each meeting. Please know that school board meetings are meetings held in public. School board members may not interact with those in attendance. With the exception of open forum, attendees may not take part in meeting discussions.

    BCISD School Board 2023

Most people never wonder, let alone ask out loud, why local school board members are willing to devote so much time and energy to their community. Public school board members are those dedicated few who are elected to represent an entire community’s education values. The beauty of public education is that its opportunities are open to everyone, and it’s up to those who lead the schools to ensure all students are given everything they need to achieve and succeed. Among those leaders, school board members stand out. Putting in long hours and working for no pay, these dedicated public servants strive day in and day out to preserve the dream of public education. By setting high expectations for student achievement, supporting successful teaching and learning, and linking schools with their communities, trustees empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to become productive, responsible citizens. Take a moment to thank a Bishop CISD school board member for caring about the future of our children.
