Welcome! My name is Rose Avelar.  I have been an educator for 21 years, and I have worked with students from 7th-11th grade. My teaching career began back in 1999 when I took a position at WAMS in Alice.  Afer 8 years of commuting, I decided to work closer to home, so I began teaching at Memorial Middle School in Kingsville.  I worked there for another 8 years, but in 2015, I knew the time had come to challenge myself and transition to the high school. I was lucky enough to secure a position at Bishop High School.  I have had an amazing journey as a Badger thus far and cannot wait to see what the new school year will bring! For the 2020-2021 school year, I will be teaching English I. I possess a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and am certified to teach Secondary English (6-12) and ESL (6-12).  When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family.
