BS in Animal Science MS in Animal Science with split minor in Wildlife Management and Biology Secondary Composite Science Education Certification

Mrs. Virginia Garza

Hello, my name is Virginia R. Garza. I live in Ricardo, Texas, with my husband and daughter. I was born and raised in Benavides, Texas, and attended college at Texas A&I University, where I received my masters in Animal Science with a split minor in Biology and Wildlife Management. Upon graduating, I worked as a research associate at The UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. After leaving, I worked at Celanese-Bishop Plant as a laboratory technician. It was during this employment that I chose to become a teacher. I attended education classes and received my teaching certification in Biology. I began my teaching career as a junior high teacher at Ben Bolt Middle School. I loved the small town atmosphere but really wanted to teach at the high school level. I pursued and accepted a teaching job in Kingsville where I taught science at HM King for several years. In 2015, I interviewed and got a teaching position in Bishop, and I now have the best of both worlds- small town atmosphere but high school level. So as fate would have it, I started teaching as a Badger and have ended as a Badger.

I have taught many subjects at Bishop- Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology as well as being the UIL Science Coach. In the time I have spent in Bishop, I have grown quite fond of my teaching family and can't think of a better organization to work with. I feel so at home when I am at work and even though I have been teaching for over 21 years, I learn something new every year- sometimes every day. My students are some of the best teachers.

Thank you for entrusting me with your children and I hope to make your childs’ learning experience an enjoyable and exciting experience.
