• Classroom Expectations are behavioral principles that each student is expected to adhere to in the classroom.  These are in alignment with, and in addition to the rules and regulations set by the school.  They are meant to be a model for proper student behavior inside a classroom environment.

    Productivity

We have a limited amount of time, we should be making the most of it!  This includes things like being on time, not abusing hall pass privileges, and being on task during activities/being attentive during lecture/study.

    Respect

We all want to be treated well.  Consider others as well as yourself before you act.  Remember that it is the students who hold the most power in determining how safe, welcoming, and positive your school is.  This includes things like respectful speech, following school rules, cleaning up after yourself, and supporting your classmates.

    Safety

In Engineering and Science classrooms, we often deal with equipment, that if used improperly or in unsafe conditions, could cause serious harm.  Safety is not an individual responsibility: It is up to each and every person in the classroom to look out for one another.  If you are ever unsure of how to conduct yourself in a safe manner, ask the teacher.

    Learning

This is why we're at school, right?  Learning requires a teacher and student to work together.  It will not always be easy.  That being said, it doesn't have to be miserable.  Students are expected to periodically reflect on the concepts that are explored in class and think about whether or not they feel like they are mastering the material being taught, and give feedback and seek help from peers and the teacher.  Sometimes a reteach is necessary.  Other times, maybe some extra notes or a little more time to get something done are needed.
