    Based on TIA requirements, the evaluation criteria must include both a teacher observation and a student performance component.  Additionally, Bishop CISD is using qualities of a teacher leader as a third measure. Each component carries a weight in the calculation of the teacher’s overall effectiveness scores.

    Component 1 (60% of score):  student growth measures (STAAR, Renaissance STAR, CIRCLE, and NWEA Map)  Student Growth Scores

    Component 2 (25% of score):  teacher observation performance standards (T-TESS)    T-TESS Score

    Component 3 (15% of score):  additional district measures (Teacher Leadership)    Teacher Leadership Score

    While the teacher effectiveness criteria has been locally created by a team of teachers and administrators, the state has established a set of guidelines for measuring exceptional effectiveness that we must adhere to.
