In the three years as the Offensive Coordinator, his offense averaged 415 yards per game and 46 points per game. In his first year at Bishop Gorman, Rodriguez helped mold junior running back Biaggio Ali Walsh, who was named the Gatorade Nevada Player of the year, as he rushed for 2,451 yards with 36 total touchdowns and averaging 12.1 yards per carry. Before coming to Bishop Gorman High School (Nevada), Rodriguez was the Offensive Line Coach/Run Game Coordinator for the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. His recruiting responsibilities included the Western part of North Carolina.

Prior to his stint at University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Rodriguez was a graduate assistant at Boise State University. While serving as a graduate assistant (offensive tackles coach) for three seasons, Boise State showcased one of the nation’s most prolific offenses. In 2011, the offensive line allowed just 1.1 sacks per game and led the country in sacks allowed during a run to a 12-1 record and a dominating MAACO Bowl win over Arizona State. In 2012, the offensive line continued with their dominance as they were #6 in the Nation in sacks allowed. Rodriguez helped Boise State reach three bowl games, which included back to back MAACO Bowl victories. In addition to a multitude of scouting responsibilities, Rodriguez also made integral contributions to one of the nation’s top recruiting classes over the last three years as well, with recruiting responsibilities that included the states of Texas, Colorado, and Nevada.

Prior to his stint at Boise State University, Rodriguez served as the Associate Head Coach at Ellsworth Community College (2009-2010) and helped lead the Panthers to more than 24 wins over a three-season span (2008-2010) and three Regional Championships and two Bowl Game victories. In 2008, Rodriguez coached the Defensive Line. The defense ranked #21 in total defense in the NJCAA. From 2009 to 2010, Rodriguez served as the Offensive Line/Tight Ends coach where he helped lead the Offense become the #1 Offense in the Nation back to back years, averaging as high as 491 yards per game and 42 points per game. While at Ellsworth College, Rodriguez personally recruited 11 starters on the 2010 edition of the squad and three of them became All-Americans, which included athletes from the states of Florida and Iowa. His Tight End, John Rabe, was one of the All-Americans that he helped mold and that he recruited to Ellsworth College.

Rodriguez got his start in coaching as an Offensive Assistant Coach at Katy High School (Texas) in 2004, where he helped out with the offensive line. After a year at Katy High School (Texas), Rodriguez became the Wide Receivers coach at Sharpstown High School (Texas) in 2005. From 2006-2007, Rodriguez served as the Co-Defensive Coordinator and defensive line coach at Sharpstown High School (Texas). Rodriguez helped Sharpstown win its first game in four years on any level in 2006. They made the State playoffs Rodriguez’s last season, which included an 8-3 campaign in 2007.

Rodriguez’s playing experience spans a pair of semi-pro leagues, including serving as a player, coach and general manager for Katy Blackhawks of the AFA. He also played wide receiver and tight end for the Houston Gunslingers of the Gulf Coast Football Association (GCFA).

Rodriguez earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from The University of Houston in 2004, as well as his Master’s degree in Kinesiology from Boise State University in 2013.
