• ESSER III

The American Rescue Plan Act, passed on March 11, 2021, provided $122.7 billion in supplemental ESSER funding, known as the ESSER III fund. Bishop CISD, along with all schools across the United States, have been given the opportunity to apply for grant funding to offset expenses as a result of the recent pandemic (COVID-19). There are fifteen (15) allowable expenses. With input from the community, school board members, parents, teachers, administrators and students via survey, Zoom meetings, school board meetings and a public input community meeting, it has been determined that the three Bishop CISD priorities for ESSER III funding are:

    1. Safe return of students to face-to-face instruction
    2. Accelerating instruction to recover learning loss occurring as a result of the pandemic
    3. Social/Emotional support of students

If approved, Bishop CISD will receive $2,595,518 to be expensed in academic years 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24. Total grant will be divided evenly over the course of the grant period as follows:

     Year 1            2021-22                     $865,173

Year 2            2022-23                     $865,173 (plus any rollover from Year 1)

Year 3            2023-24                     $865,172 (plus any rollover from Year 2)
