Garden Time!

  • Every year 3rd grade students participate in a hands on school garden.  Students learn about what plants need to grow, plan the garden, clean the space, gather the seeds, plant the seeds or seedlings, tend the garden and finally HARVEST! We often have a fall and spring garden depending on the weather.  We are thankful for our partners at the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service for their wonderful support.  Through the local Agrilife office we are provided with a Learn Grow Eat and Go curriculum that teaches students the importance of healthy living though diet and exercise.  Our school garden plays a huge role in the curriculum and the students learn valuable lessons as well as create lifelong school memories!
