Bishop High School SkillsUSA – Welding Team

Bishop High School welding team recently earned a perfect score and won Best of Show at the State Competition for SkillsUSA held in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the American Bank Center.

Led by instructor, Michael Saenz, the welding team demonstrated the skills and talents they have perfected in the classroom. “We have an amazing group of young welders.” Saenz said. “I am proud of their project and the industry endorsements they are earning."

Andi Kuyatt, the High School Principal and Career and Technical Education Director said, “The manufacturing program at Bishop is only in its second year; it is amazing what these young men have accomplished in just two years! The entire district is so proud of them."

The welding team has earned their industry core certification, Welding I certificate and are currently working on the Welding II certification.
